The exhibition “Lemmas” takes the 1970 structural film “Zorns Lemma” by Hollis Frampton as its point of departure. In the film, literacy and the ability to understand moving images are confused by systematically moving from one mode of perception to the other. It investigates how media can be understood as mental strategies and not solely as technologies.Fifty years after the first screening of this historic film, a group exhibition is organised at OUT OF SIGHT with work by Evelin Brosi & Elvis Bonier, Katrin Kamrau, Marthe Koning, Jianan Qu and Antoinette Zwirchmayr, in which a similar principle is handled, confusing the specificities of different media.
